2018 FREE Couch-to-5K Training

Running is more than exercise and reaching a fitness goal - it’s a community, a sense of accomplishment, and a way of life. We invite you to join our FREE 8-week program designed to prepare anyone to run a 5K. Our plan is built especially for those of you who have never run before or are looking to dust off your sneakers after a long hiatus!  Our experienced coaches will encourage each step in your running journey and celebrate when we all cross the finish line together!

During the 8-week program, beginning on January 6th, we will meet every Saturday mornings at 8 a.m at the Shelby Park Community Center and every Tuesday and Thursday at 6 p.m. at Nashville Running Company. It’s encouraged that you make every workout – the more consistent you are, the more successful you will be! There will also be incentive prizes for those that show up and they are good prizes (think running gear, gift certificates to get more running gear, etc…).

During the course of the 24 scheduled workouts, participants will progress from walk/runs to run/walks to steady running. Most workouts will only last between 30 and 45 minutes. Click here to see the Training Plan and be sure join our Facebook group for regular updates and great info for all runners.

Our goal race the 24th Annual Gupton Jeep Tom King Classic 5K (that’s 3.1 miles) on Saturday, March 3rd, 2018 at Nissan Stadium. You can do it and know that all of your coaches for this training have gone through this same program in their running journey. (Race fees are your own responsibility and not part of the training program.).

At the the first workout on January 6th your coaches will go over the program and answer any questions. If you have any further questions, email Lee Wilson at lee@nashvillerunning.com.
